Traveling & On The Road
Be prepared for driving in snow and icy conditions, on rainy and wet roads, and traveling with children in rental cars and recreational vehicles (RV's). Every 15-minutes in the United States a driver or passenger is killed from a car crash (NHTSA) from driving too fast for road conditions (wet, icy, curves, etc.), driving under the influence (alcohol, drugs, medication, etc.), failing to keep in the proper lane, failing to yield right of way to another vehicle, and driving distracted (phone, testing, talking, eating, etc.). Not wearing a seat belt and not having children buckled up properly in a car seat, booster seat or seat belt is also a contributing factor to these injuries. Fortunately these deaths are however 100% preventable and as a parent you can help reduce these risks by applying recommendations for safety.
