Types of Forward-Facing Car Seats
Convertible & all-In-One
Both the convertible car seat and the all-in-one car seat can be used rear-facing up until the child reaches the maximum height or weight of the seat. They then can be reversed to forward-facing positions.
While the all-in-one seat can also later be used as a booster seat, it is often a wide seat which can be difficult for space in smaller vehicles and those with multiple car seats or rear passengers. |
Combination
Combination Seat
The combination car seat is a forward-facing only seat. Once the child reaches the maximum height or weight of the seat, the 5-point harness straps can be removed and it converts to a booster seat. If you are shopping for a forward-facing only seat these are the best since they can later also be used as a booster seat. |
